The HydroMetrics GW50™ is an ideal research tool with a low cost of ownership compared to alternatives helping achieve results in tight funding environments.
The optical sensor quantifies total nitrate in situ using UV absorption, eliminating the need for chemical reduction steps required in traditional nitrite-based methods. It enables continuous, real-time nitrate monitoring in water bodies, agricultural runoff, and soil solutions with high sensitivity and minimal maintenance.
HydroMetrics offers four variants of the GW50™ to meet different research needs achieving laboratory level accuracy:
- The HydroMetrics GW50™ nitrate sensor is designed for installation within a water body or well.
- The HydroMetrics GW50PC™ nitrate sensor is designed for installation within a water body or well where regular cleaning is possible. The Water-Jet™ cleaning system on this sensor can be configured to pump water through the measurement cell on a regular cycle.
- The HydroMetrics GW50FC™ nitrate sensor is designed for situations where a suitable bore is not available to install a nitrate sensor. Water can be pumped from the water source and piped directly through the measurement cell in this sensor.
- The HydroMetrics Portable GW50™ nitrate sensor is designed for situations where multiple field measurements are taken in different locations. The water sample is collected and placed directly in the measurement cell of this sensor and the on-board control module activates the sensor and records a nitrate reading.
